Since November 1, 2024, Pornhub and many other adult sites have been unavailable in Oklahoma, and they are still blocked in October 2026. The cause is Senate Bill 1959, which requires adult platforms to verify every visitor’s age.
Rather than collect sensitive ID data, Pornhub, RedTube, YouPorn and Brazzers blocked the whole state. Porn is still legal for Oklahoma adults; the big platforms just won’t serve them.
I work full-time in cybersecurity and have published more than 600 VPN videos over 3+ years on my AllThingsVPN and VPNR channels. In this guide, I show how to watch Pornhub in Oklahoma with a VPN, which sites still work, and which VPNs I trust most.
How to watch porn in Oklahoma with a VPN (quick steps)
Get a reliable VPN
I recommend Surfshark One, the fastest VPN I’ve tested. It costs $2.79/mo on the 2-year plan with 85% off and 3 months free.
Download and install the app
Surfshark has apps for Windows, macOS, Android, iOS and Linux. Install it on whichever device you use.
Connect to a server in an unrestricted state
Denver is the closest good option, and Los Angeles, Chicago and New York also work well. Every state bordering Oklahoma except Colorado and New Mexico has its own law, so skip Dallas, Kansas City and Little Rock servers.
Open a private window and browse
A fresh private window stops old cookies from revealing your location. With a non-Oklahoma IP, the block page disappears.
Why is Pornhub blocked in Oklahoma?
Governor Kevin Stitt signed SB 1959 on April 26, 2024, and it took effect on November 1, 2024. It requires any site with a substantial share of material harmful to minors to confirm visitors are 18 or older.
Sites can verify ages through:
- A state digital ID app
- An independent third-party verification service
- Transaction data, such as a card or bank record
Instead of fines, the law lets people sue sites that fail to verify ages, including parents suing on behalf of a minor. Pornhub’s parent company Aylo argues that collecting IDs puts users’ privacy at risk, so it blocked Oklahoma days before the law started.
Which porn sites still work in Oklahoma in 2026?
Sites reacted to SB 1959 in different ways. Some blocked Oklahoma outright, some added age verification, and a few offer partial access. Here’s what I found in my testing.
| Porn site | Available in Oklahoma? | Age verification required? |
|---|---|---|
| Pornhub | ❌ Blocked | N/A |
| RedTube | ❌ Blocked | N/A |
| YouPorn | ❌ Blocked | N/A |
| Tube8 | ❌ Blocked | N/A |
| Brazzers | ❌ Blocked | N/A |
| RedGIFs | ❌ Blocked | N/A |
| xHamster | ✅ Partial access | 🔒 Yes, ID or AI age estimate |
| xVideos | ✅ Partial access | 🔒 Yes, for some content |
| XNXX | ✅ Partial access | 🔒 Yes, full access needs ID |
| Chaturbate | ✅ Yes | 🔒 Yes |
| Stripchat | ✅ Yes | 🔒 Yes |
| OnlyFans | ✅ Yes | 🔒 Yes, login and credit card |
| SpankBang | ✅ Yes | 🔒 Yes |
Based on my latest checks. Sites change their approach often, so treat this as a snapshot.
Aylo’s sites are all fully blocked, and most others ask for government ID, the exact privacy trade-off people want to avoid. A VPN sidesteps both.
Why you should use a VPN to watch porn in Oklahoma
A VPN routes your traffic through a server in another location and hides your real IP. Connect to Denver, and Pornhub sees a Colorado IP instead of an Oklahoma one.
It also brings real privacy benefits:
- Your ISP can’t see what you browse: the VPN encrypts your traffic.
- No ID submission: you change location instead of handing over a driver’s license.
- Safer public Wi-Fi: coffee shops and hotels can’t snoop on your connection.
- Every blocked site at once: the same connection unlocks Pornhub, RedTube, YouPorn and the rest.

1. Surfshark One: best overall and the fastest VPN I tested
Surfshark One is my top recommendation for Oklahoma because it’s the fastest VPN I’ve tested, keeping about 96% of my base speed. Buffering at the wrong moment is annoying, and with Surfshark I didn’t run into it.
The One plan bundles antivirus and real-time data breach alerts, and CleanWeb blocks the trackers and malicious ads common on adult sites. Unlimited devices, a kill switch and an audited no-logs policy round it out.
The deal is $2.79/mo on the 2-year plan with 85% off and 3 months free. Read my full Surfshark One review.
What I liked
- About 96% speed retention, fastest in my tests
- Unlimited device connections
- CleanWeb blocks ads and trackers on adult sites
- Antivirus included in Surfshark One
- 30-day money-back guarantee
What I didn’t like
- Speeds vary a little by server location
- Fewer US servers than NordVPN

2. IPVanish: unlimited devices, fast speeds and budget friendly
IPVanish is a solid second pick with a big US server footprint and a low price. It kept about 93% of my base speed, plenty for smooth HD.
It also allows unlimited devices and includes AES-256 encryption and a kill switch. The deal is 84% off at $2.39/mo on the 24-month Essential plan, plus a 3 GB eSIM data gift. See my IPVanish review.
What I liked
- About 93% speed retention
- Large US server network
- Unlimited simultaneous connections
What I didn’t like
- US-based jurisdiction
- Fewer extras than Surfshark One
Not sure which VPN fits you best?
Surfshark One is my top pick overall, but you can compare every VPN I've tested side by side in my full guide.
See all VPN comparisons →3. Proton VPN: best for privacy
If privacy matters more than speed or price, Proton VPN is the pick. It’s built by the team behind Proton Mail, runs under Swiss privacy law, and its open-source apps have been independently audited.
It kept about 92% of my base speed. The free plan has no data cap but limited servers, and the paid plan costs $2.99/mo on the 2-year plan with 70% off. Read my Proton VPN review.
What I liked
- Swiss jurisdiction
- Open-source, audited apps
- Free plan with no data cap
What I didn’t like
- Costs more than Surfshark One for fewer extras
- Free plan won’t let you pick a state
4. PrivadoVPN: cheapest option and best free VPN
PrivadoVPN is the cheapest VPN I recommend at $1.11/mo on the 2-year plan, with 90% off and 3 months free. Its free plan gives you 10 GB per month, and it’s based in Iceland with a no-logs policy.
Speeds came in at about 85% retention, fine for HD but behind Surfshark. See my PrivadoVPN review.
5. NordVPN: one of the fastest, but pricier
NordVPN works well for unblocking Pornhub in Oklahoma, and its US network is one of the largest around. NordLynx keeps speeds strong at about 91% retention, though Surfshark kept more speed in my tests.
Threat Protection blocks intrusive trackers and ads. The downsides are price, at $3.59/mo on the Plus plan with 75% off and 3 months free, and a 10-device limit. Full details in my NordVPN review and Surfshark vs NordVPN.
What I liked
- Very large US server network
- Threat Protection blocks ads and trackers
- Audited no-logs policy
What I didn’t like
- Pricier than Surfshark One
- Slower than Surfshark in my tests
- 10-device limit
6. VeePN: budget streaming pick
VeePN costs $1.99/mo on the 2-year plan, with 83% off and 4 extra months free. It kept about 88% of my base speed and reached Pornhub from unrestricted US servers, though it has fewer extras than the top picks.
7. ExpressVPN: easiest to use
ExpressVPN is the most beginner-friendly VPN I’ve tested, and it reliably unblocks Pornhub from Oklahoma. It kept about 91% of my base speed and covers 10 devices on the Basic plan for $2.79/mo with 78% off and 4 months free.
ExpressVPN is owned by Kape Technologies, which also owns CyberGhost and PIA. Full breakdown in my ExpressVPN review.

Is it legal to use a VPN to watch porn in Oklahoma?
Yes. VPNs are legal throughout the United States, and porn is legal in Oklahoma for adults over 18. SB 1959 targets websites, not their users.
Pornhub’s block is self-imposed, not a government mandate, so routing around it with a VPN is legal for adults.
Can you watch porn in Oklahoma with a free VPN?
Technically yes, but I wouldn’t recommend most free VPNs for this:
- Privacy risks: many free providers log your activity and sell it.
- Slow speeds: congested servers mean constant buffering.
- Data caps: often too small for regular video.
- Random locations: you may land on a server in another restricted state.
If you want to start free, PrivadoVPN’s 10 GB plan and Proton VPN’s free plan are the two I’d trust. Surfshark’s 30-day money-back guarantee is another way to test risk-free.
What is Oklahoma’s porn law? (SB 1959 explained)
SB 1959 was sponsored by State Senator Jerry Alvord and took effect on November 1, 2024. It holds adult websites responsible for making sure their users are 18 or older, using reasonable age verification.
Oklahoma is one of 27 states with laws like this as of October 2026, alongside neighbors Texas, Kansas, Missouri and Arkansas. In most of them, Pornhub blocks the state rather than handle identity data.
The US Supreme Court upheld a near-identical Texas law in June 2025, so adults in Oklahoma should expect these restrictions to stay for the foreseeable future.
FAQ
Why can’t I watch Pornhub in Oklahoma?
SB 1959 requires adult sites to verify ages, and Pornhub refused to collect IDs, so it blocked Oklahoma on November 1, 2024. A VPN server outside Oklahoma restores access without any ID.
Is Pornhub banned in Oklahoma?
Not officially. The government didn’t ban Pornhub; the platform chose to block Oklahoma residents rather than comply with the age verification law.
Is it legal to use a VPN to watch porn in Oklahoma?
Yes. VPNs are legal across the US, adult content is legal for people over 18, and the law targets websites, not users.
Which server location should I use to unblock Pornhub in Oklahoma?
Denver is the closest unrestricted hub, and Los Angeles, Chicago and New York also work. Avoid Dallas, Houston, Kansas City and Little Rock, which sit in states with their own laws.
Why does Pornhub think I’m in Oklahoma when I’m not?
Some ISPs route traffic through Oklahoma network hubs, so nearby users can be geolocated there. A VPN replaces your IP entirely and fixes it.
What porn sites work in Oklahoma without a VPN?
xHamster, Chaturbate, Stripchat, xVideos, XNXX, SpankBang and OnlyFans still load in Oklahoma, but most require ID for full access. A VPN reaches all of them, plus the blocked Aylo sites, without any ID.
Can I use a free VPN to watch Pornhub in Oklahoma?
Most free VPNs aren’t safe for this. PrivadoVPN’s free plan and Proton VPN’s free plan are the two I’d trust, but Surfshark One at $2.79/mo is far better for speed and privacy.
Will this law ever be reversed?
Unlikely any time soon. The Supreme Court upheld a near-identical Texas law in 2025, and more states keep passing similar rules. A VPN is the most reliable workaround for now.
