NordVPN is one of the best VPNs I’ve tested. It sits lower on this list for two reasons: it’s the most expensive option here, and Surfshark has consistently come out faster in my head-to-head tests.

Where NordVPN earns its higher price
What you pay for is depth. Its WireGuard-based NordLynx protocol is fast, its no-logs policy has been audited several times, and the apps include Threat Protection, Double VPN and Onion over VPN.
