Aura
Aura is the most complete identity theft protection bundle I have reviewed. Three-bureau credit monitoring, $1 million in insurance per adult, data broker removal and 24/7 U.S.-based fraud resolution make it a serious shield for American households. Its VPN is basic, so pair it with Surfshark One if privacy and speed matter to you.
- Three-bureau credit monitoring
- $1M identity theft insurance per adult
- Data broker removal on 425+ sites
- 24/7 U.S.-based fraud specialists
- 60-day money-back guarantee on annual plans
- Identity and credit features are U.S.-focused
- VPN is basic compared to dedicated VPNs
- Device limits are described inconsistently
- Some scam protection is an add-on
I have spent more than three years and over 600 videos testing VPNs and security tools on my AllThingsVPN and VPNR channels. Most of the products I review protect one thing: your connection.
Aura is different. It tries to protect your whole digital life, from your Social Security number and credit file to your bank accounts, your passwords, your devices and even your kids’ gaming sessions.

That is a big promise, and the stakes are real. Aura cites the FBI’s 2025 figure showing that Americans lost more than $21 billion to identity theft and fraud, a 26% jump over 2024. So in this Aura review I went through every part of the service: the company behind it, the plans and the real annual cost, identity and credit monitoring, data broker removal, the VPN, antivirus, password manager, parental controls, insurance, refunds and renewal terms. I will tell you what I liked, what I did not like, and who should actually pay for it.
Short answer: If you live in the U.S. and want identity theft protection, credit monitoring and fraud recovery in one subscription, Aura is one of the strongest options available in 2026. If what you mainly need is a fast, private VPN with antivirus and breach alerts, Surfshark One is still my number one pick and costs far less. Already decided on Aura? What is Aura?
Aura is a subscription service that combines identity monitoring, financial fraud alerts, privacy tools, device security and family online safety in a single app and dashboard. Instead of buying a credit monitoring service, an antivirus, a VPN, a password manager and a parental control app separately, you get them under one account and one bill.

The adult plans focus on identity and financial protection: credit monitoring, identity theft insurance, fraud resolution, antivirus, a VPN and password management. The child-focused products add parental controls, gaming risk alerts and insights into online habits. Aura sells directly to consumers and also through business channels such as employers and managed service providers.
Company history
Aura started life in 2017 as iSubscribed and adopted the Aura name in 2019. In 2021 it bought Circle Media Labs, the company behind the Circle parental control system, which explains why Aura’s family tools feel more mature than what most security suites offer. In 2024, Aura and the business now known as Point Wild separated into two companies.
On its About page, Aura reports more than 1.3 million customers protected, more than 20 Digital Parenthood partners and $140 million in Series G funding raised in 2025. Those are company-reported numbers, and I would not read the customer figure as a combined subscriber count after the latest acquisition.
The Qoria acquisition and 2026 changes
2026 has been a huge year for Aura. On 17 July 2026 it completed the acquisition of Qoria, a company focused on school safety and student wellbeing. That deal brought in Qoria’s school ecosystem and the Qustodio parent account base. Aura’s completion announcement cited roughly 32,000 school customers and a $100 million equity placement. The combined company now trades on the Australian Securities Exchange under the ticker AXQ, with unrestricted trading starting on 20 July 2026.
The leadership picture also settled in April 2026. Founder Hari Ravichandran stays on as CEO and Sujay Jaswa remains board chairman. Brian DeCenzo became CFO and president of the combined company, and Tim Levy leads Aura Alpha.
Aura published its first combined results on 5 August 2026. Because the deal closed after the quarter ended, these are unaudited pro forma numbers that blend historical Aura and Qoria results:
| Measure (Q2 2026, pro forma) | Reported figure |
|---|---|
| Revenue | $85.1 million |
| Revenue growth vs Q2 2025 | 27% |
| Annual recurring revenue (ARR) | $339.7 million |
| ARR growth year over year | 27% |
| Adjusted EBITDA loss | $12.6 million |
| Adjusted EBITDA improvement year over year | 51% |
| Total liquidity at closing | $124.0 million |
Why does this matter to you as a customer? When you hand a company your Social Security number, bank logins and your children’s activity data, you want it to be around for the long haul. A growing, publicly listed company with $124 million in liquidity is a reassuring sign. Management also reaffirmed a 2026 target of more than 20% ARR growth and positive free cash flow from closing through year end, although those are forecasts, not guarantees.
Aura pricing and plans in 2026
Aura sells four consumer plans. Through our exclusive offer you can save up to 63%, and the Individual plan is the simplest way in at $10 a month billed annually, or $13 a month if you prefer monthly billing. All prices below are in U.S. dollars. I keep the latest verified discount, plan prices and checkout tips on my Aura coupon page, so check it before you buy.
Current Aura deal prices
| Plan | Who is covered | Discount | Annual billing | Total per year | Monthly billing |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Individual | 1 adult, 10 devices | Up to 58% off | $10/mo | $120 | $13/mo |
| Couple | 2 adults, 20 devices | Up to 62% off | $18/mo | $216 | $24/mo |
| Family | 5 adults, unlimited kids, 50 devices | Up to 63% off | $29/mo | $348 | $39/mo |
Annual billing is clearly the better value. Compared with paying monthly for 12 months on this offer, annual billing saves $36 on Individual ($156 vs $120), $72 on Couple ($288 vs $216) and $120 on Family ($468 vs $348). Only annual plans qualify for the 60-day money-back guarantee, which is another reason I recommend them.

Aura’s standard listed prices
For context, here is what Aura’s main pricing page lists outside of our offer. This also shows you the Kids plan, which is not part of the discounted bundle above.
| Plan | Members | Devices advertised | Annual billing | Yearly charge | Monthly billing | 12 monthly payments |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Individual | 1 adult | 10 | $12/mo | $144 | $15/mo | $180 |
| Couple | 2 adults | 20 | $22/mo | $264 | $29/mo | $348 |
| Family | 5 adults + unlimited kids | Unlimited* | $32/mo | $384 | $50/mo | $600 |
| Kids | Unlimited children | Unlimited | $10/mo | $120 | $13/mo | $156 |
Comparing the standard and deal prices, our offer saves you $24 a year on Individual, $48 on Couple and $36 on Family when billed annually. Aura’s separate Aura Parents landing page also shows offer-specific prices of $8.33 and $9.99 per month billed annually for child safety, which works out to roughly $100 and $120 a year. I treat those as separate promotions rather than replacements for the standard Kids price.
Watch the device limits on Family. Aura describes the Family plan’s device allowance in three different ways: unlimited on the main pricing page, 50 devices on the identity protection page and on our offer, and 10 devices per person on the VPN page. If you plan to install antivirus or the VPN on a lot of devices, confirm the exact limit for your offer before you buy.
About those savings labels: Aura’s promotional “up to X% off” percentages are calculated against reference prices, not against the current month-to-month price. Against Aura’s standard monthly pricing, annual billing saves about 20% on Individual, 24.1% on Couple, 36% on Family and 23.1% on Kids. Always look at the actual dollar amount at checkout. My Aura coupon page breaks down the real dollar savings for every plan.
Couple and Family also include Trusted Family Access, a consent-based feature that lets one member help a loved one deal with identity, financial and account alerts. I think that is genuinely useful for anyone helping an elderly parent who is a common target for scammers.
Get Aura for up to 63% OFF
Start with the Individual plan at $10/mo billed annually, with $1 million in identity theft insurance and a 60-day money-back guarantee.
What you get on the Individual plan
Because Individual is the plan most readers will start with, here is everything it includes for one adult and up to 10 devices:
| Category | Included features |
|---|---|
| Protection and support | $1 million identity theft insurance, white-glove fraud resolution, 24/7 U.S.-based support |
| Online privacy and security | Antivirus, VPN and safe browsing for 10 devices, password manager, 1GB vault |
| Identity monitoring | Online accounts, Social Security number and personal info, identity verification, home and auto title, criminal and court records |
| Privacy cleanup | Data broker removal, spam call and junk mail removal |
| Financial protection | Three-bureau credit monitoring, credit lock, bank fraud monitoring, financial transaction monitoring |
| Credit insights | Monthly credit score, annual credit reports |
In my view, Individual is the right starting point for one person. You get the core identity, credit and device protection without paying for a couple or family setup you do not need. Couple and Family add AI spam call protection, and Family adds child SSN and credit monitoring, parental controls and Safe Gaming alerts.

Identity monitoring
Identity monitoring is the heart of Aura, and it is where the service earns its price. Aura watches for exposed personal information and compromised accounts, and it alerts you to high-risk uses of your identity, such as someone applying for a payday loan in your name. Those short-term lenders often skip the credit checks that would trigger a normal credit alert, so this is a gap many basic monitoring tools miss.
Here is what Aura monitors:
- Dark web and data breaches: your email addresses, passwords, usernames and other personal details in leaked databases.
- Social Security number: signs that your SSN is being used or traded.
- Address changes and public records: attempts to redirect your mail or misuse your identity in records.
- Criminal and court records: crimes or court cases filed under your name.
- Home and auto titles: unauthorized changes to who owns your property or vehicle.
- Identity verification: alerts when your identity is used to verify new accounts.
Aura says its March 2026 competitive research found it monitors 24 dark web data categories and up to 20 financial accounts, which it describes as 41% more category coverage than the next leading competitor. That is Aura’s own comparison, not an independent audit, but even taken with a grain of salt, the breadth here is impressive.
Credit monitoring and financial protection
Aura monitors your credit file at all three major bureaus: Experian, Equifax and TransUnion. Many cheaper services only watch one bureau, which leaves room for a fraudster to open credit at the other two without you knowing. With Aura you get:
- Alerts when anything changes on your credit file at any of the three bureaus
- A monthly VantageScore update
- Annual credit report access
- An Experian credit lock you can switch on and off from the app
- Bank, credit card, investment and retirement account monitoring for suspicious spending or transactions above thresholds you choose
Important: The credit lock only covers Experian. It is not a three-bureau freeze. If you want maximum protection, I recommend freezing your credit at Equifax and TransUnion directly as well. It is free and takes only a few minutes per bureau.

How fast are Aura’s fraud alerts?
Speed is everything with fraud alerts. The sooner you know, the sooner you can stop the damage. Aura publishes results from a 2025 study by ath Power Consulting, which Aura funded, comparing alert times across identity protection services:
| Service | Average fraud alert time | Alert delivery rate |
|---|---|---|
| Aura | 3 minutes | 100% |
| Norton | 554 minutes | 100% |
| McAfee | 696 minutes | 72% |
| Allstate | 923 minutes | 92% |
| IdentityForce | 1,995 minutes | 88% |
Keep in mind this study was paid for by Aura, so I see it as a strong indicator rather than independent proof. It is also not a guarantee that every future fraud attempt will be caught in three minutes. Still, the gap with competitors is large enough that I think Aura’s alert system is genuinely fast.
Data broker removal and privacy tools
Data brokers and people search sites collect your name, address, phone number, relatives and more, then sell it to anyone who pays. That data fuels spam, scam calls and targeted fraud. Aura’s removal service covers more than 425 data broker and people search sites.
The process is automated: Aura scans for your information, sends opt-out requests on your behalf, tracks their progress and resubmits them when your details reappear. Aura says it rechecks broker sites daily. Removals can take up to 30 days depending on the broker, and some require your authorization. The dashboard shows each request as pending, ongoing or completed, which makes it easy to see where things stand.
Aura also includes unused account cleanup, which finds old accounts you forgot about so you can close them, plus browser-based ad and tracker blocking. The data removal page lists Chrome, Edge and desktop Safari for those browser tools.
No data removal service can promise that every copy of your information disappears forever. A successful opt-out request is a big step, but brokers can re-collect data later, which is exactly why continuous monitoring matters.
Aura VPN review
As a VPN reviewer, this is the part I care about most, and I want to be honest: Aura’s VPN is a useful extra, not a reason to buy Aura.
Here is what it offers:
- More than 100 virtual server locations
- Encrypted connections for public Wi-Fi
- Blocking of known phishing and scam websites
- A kill switch that cuts your internet if the VPN drops
- Split tunneling to choose which websites go through the VPN
- Apps for Windows, macOS, iOS and Android
That covers the basics for protecting yourself on hotel or coffee shop Wi-Fi. What Aura does not advertise is the kind of detail I look for in a dedicated VPN: specific protocols, independently audited no-logs claims, streaming unblocking, server counts or speed-focused features. The device allowance is also described as 10 devices per person, which is far behind VPNs like Surfshark and IPVanish that allow unlimited connections.
For comparison, Surfshark retained about 96% of my base speed in my testing, the fastest result I have recorded, and it includes unlimited devices, audited no-logs, streaming unblocking and a full set of advanced features. If you want a VPN you will use every day for privacy, streaming or travel, I recommend a dedicated VPN alongside Aura or instead of it.
Need a faster, more powerful VPN?
Surfshark One adds a top-rated VPN, antivirus, breach alerts and private search for unlimited devices. See how it compares with the other top VPNs I have tested.
See the best VPNs of 2026 →Antivirus
Aura’s antivirus offers real-time scanning of newly added files, threat alerts, quarantine and the option to remove or restore flagged files. Aura says it protects against ransomware, spyware, adware, worms, trojans and rootkits. Safe browsing adds another layer by warning you about dangerous sites.
Antivirus is available on Windows, Mac and Android. There is an Aura app for iPhone, but that does not mean iPhones get the same file-scanning antivirus. Apple’s iOS restrictions make that kind of scanning impractical for every security vendor, so this is not a weakness unique to Aura.
Password manager, vault and email aliases
The built-in password manager stores credentials for unlimited accounts, generates strong passwords, syncs across your supported devices and flags weak or exposed passwords. Aura describes AES-256 encryption for your password data. It supports iOS, Android, Chrome, Firefox and Edge.
The Vault lets you store sensitive digital information and files, with 1GB of storage on the Individual plan, and you can share items with other people on your plan. Email aliases let you hide your real address when signing up for newsletters or shopping sites, which cuts down spam and limits the damage if a site gets breached.
It is a solid, practical password manager. Power users who rely on advanced features like hardware security keys or detailed sharing controls may still prefer a dedicated tool, but for most people this is more than enough.
Call protection, text protection and email protection
Scam calls and texts are now one of the most common ways people get defrauded, so I was glad to see Aura address them.
- Call Protection: blocks known spam callers and uses AI to screen unknown calls. You get a short summary of each screened call and can adjust the protection level or pause screening. Available on iOS and Android.
- Spam text protection: available on iOS only.
- Email protection: an optional feature that connects your Gmail, iCloud, Outlook, AOL or Yahoo account to block spam and marketing messages and screen for scams and phishing.
Aura’s site uses “Now with Spam Call Protection” labels in several places, but the detailed product page says Call Protection is included with Family or available as an add-on. Our offer includes AI spam call protection on Couple and Family. If you are on Individual and want it, check the add-on price by calling Aura at 833-412-8725, since I could not find a fixed public price.

Parental controls and child safety
This is where Aura stands out from almost every security suite I have tested. The Circle acquisition and now Qoria and Qustodio give Aura serious experience in family safety.
Parental controls
Parental controls work on iOS and Android and include:
- Website and app blocking
- Individual time limits for each child
- Schedules and downtime, plus the ability to reward extra online time
- A pause button for internet access
- Usage reports
- SafeSearch filtering for Google, Bing and DuckDuckGo
Aura Parents insights
Aura Parents adds a more modern layer: Messaging Insights, daytime and nighttime usage trends, a Digital Wellbeing Score and weekly summaries. AI App Monitoring and Alerts flags when your child uses high-risk AI chat apps and describes messaging patterns. Risk Signals can flag messages that suggest self-harm concerns.
According to Aura’s onboarding timeline, initial insights show up after about two days, the wellbeing score after four days and the first weekly summary after seven days, depending on how much activity there is. These are signals for parents to pay attention to, not clinical diagnoses or guaranteed real-time detection.
I also like Aura’s approach to privacy here. By default, parents receive insights rather than raw private messages, with limited raw content shared only in serious safety situations. That balance respects kids’ privacy while still alerting parents when something is wrong.
Safe Gaming
Safe Gaming, powered by Kidas, monitors voice and text chat in more than 200 supported PC games for cyberbullying, predators and other risks. It is a Windows PC feature, so it does not cover consoles or mobile games. Aura itself notes that its services do not monitor every piece of content and that alerts may be delayed or inaccurate.
Child identity protection
On the Family plan, Aura also monitors your children’s Social Security numbers and credit. Child identity theft often goes undetected for years, until the child applies for a student loan or first credit card, so this is a valuable feature that many parents overlook.
Identity theft insurance and fraud resolution
If the worst happens, Aura does not just send you an alert and leave you alone. Every adult is covered by up to $1 million in identity theft insurance:
| Plan | Adults covered | Total insurance |
|---|---|---|
| Individual | 1 | Up to $1 million |
| Couple | 2 | Up to $2 million ($1M per adult) |
| Family | 5 | Up to $5 million ($1M per adult) |
Note that the Family plan’s $5 million is the sum of $1 million per adult, not $5 million for each person. The insurance can cover eligible stolen funds, certain legal expenses, lost wages and other recovery costs, subject to policy terms and exclusions. It is underwritten and administered by American Bankers Insurance Company of Florida, an Assurant company, and it is not available in every jurisdiction. Losses from pre-authorized payments are excluded under the standard identity theft description.
Alongside the insurance, Aura offers white-glove fraud resolution with 24/7 U.S.-based support and fraud specialists. In my opinion, this is one of the most valuable parts of the subscription. Recovering from identity theft can mean dozens of phone calls, forms and letters, and having a specialist walk you through it saves an enormous amount of stress.
Optional cyber insurance
Aura also offers a separate, optional cyber insurance product:
| Coverage detail | Limit |
|---|---|
| Aggregate annual limit | $50,000 |
| Lifetime limit | $205,000 |
| Data recovery | Up to $5,000 per year |
| Covered categories | Cybercrime, cyber extortion, cryptocurrency crime, cyberbullying |
The category amounts all sit inside the $50,000 annual aggregate rather than adding separate pots of money. Ransom-related coverage also has approval and notification conditions. I could not find a public premium for this add-on.

Free trial, refunds and renewals
Aura offers a 14-day free trial and a 60-day money-back guarantee. Here is how they actually work, because the fine print matters:
1
Choose an annual plan bought directly from Aura
The 60-day money-back guarantee applies to eligible first-time annual subscriptions bought on Aura’s website or through its support team. Monthly plans and subscriptions billed through Amazon or other third parties are not covered.
2
Know when the 60 days start
If you begin with a free trial, the 60-day window starts at trial signup. It does not add 60 extra days after the trial ends. The free trial can only be used once.
3
Complete identity verification
Full access to credit and identity features depends on identity verification and credit eligibility. Some features are only available to U.S. residents with a Social Security number.
4
Cancel by phone if you want a refund
To cancel and request an eligible refund, call Aura at 1-833-552-2123. Cancel at least one day before your next billing date to avoid renewal.
Renewal prices can change. Under Aura’s terms effective 1 October 2026, subscriptions renew automatically at the price shown in your account dashboard or otherwise communicated by Aura, and Aura can change prices with at least 30 days’ notice. Renewals do not qualify for the full refund guarantee. Taxes and payment or currency conversion charges may also apply. Set a calendar reminder before your renewal date so you can review the price.
Is Aura available outside the U.S.?
Aura is built for Americans. The prices in this review are for the U.S. storefront. Aura’s terms also mention Canadian customers, but credit monitoring, Social Security number monitoring and the insurance are tied to U.S. eligibility. If you live outside the U.S., do not expect the same benefits, and check enrollment, credit eligibility, insurance availability and platform support before buying.
If you are outside the U.S. and mainly want to protect your devices and privacy, Surfshark One works worldwide and is a better fit.
Privacy and data security
Handing over your SSN and bank details to any company requires trust, so I looked closely at Aura’s commitments. Aura states that:
- Sensitive data is encrypted in transit and at rest
- It does not sell family data to third parties
- It holds ISO 27001 certification
- It has undergone SOC 2 Type II audits
- For children’s messaging features, it shares insights rather than raw messages by default
These are strong commitments for an identity protection company. I have not seen the underlying audit reports myself, so I treat them as Aura’s published claims, but ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II are serious standards that require outside auditors.
Aura for businesses
Aura Business targets employers, managed service providers, resellers and other partners. Its MSP product handles access from unmanaged personal devices using identity, device trust and user risk signals. Employers can also offer Aura as an employee benefit through MetLife. Aura reports more than 2,100 partners and 147 million data removals processed to date. Business pricing is quote-based, so you will need to contact Aura for a number.
Aura vs Surfshark One
Readers often ask me whether they need Aura or whether Surfshark One is enough. They solve different problems, and the right choice depends on what you are protecting.
| Feature | Aura Individual | Surfshark One |
|---|---|---|
| Main focus | Identity theft and financial fraud protection | VPN plus cybersecurity bundle |
| Deal price | $10/mo billed annually (Aura coupon) | $2.79/mo on the 2-year plan (Surfshark coupon) |
| Devices | 10 | Unlimited |
| VPN quality | Basic, 100+ locations | Top tier, the fastest in my tests (about 96% speed retention) |
| Antivirus | Yes | Yes |
| Breach alerts | Yes, very detailed | Yes |
| Three-bureau credit monitoring | Yes | No |
| Identity theft insurance | Up to $1 million | No |
| Fraud resolution specialists | Yes, 24/7 U.S.-based | No |
| Works worldwide | U.S.-focused | Yes |
| Money-back guarantee | 60 days (annual plans) | 30 days |
My recommendation: if you are in the U.S. and worried about identity theft, credit fraud or your kids’ online safety, Aura is the stronger tool. If your priority is a fast, private connection with antivirus and breach alerts on every device you own, Surfshark One is my number one pick and costs a fraction of the price. Many of my viewers run both: Aura for identity and credit, Surfshark One for everyday privacy and speed. If you want data broker removal on the Surfshark side too, take a look at my Surfshark One+ review.

Who should get Aura?
Aura is a great fit if you:
- Live in the U.S. and want three-bureau credit monitoring with fast alerts
- Want identity theft insurance and real people to help you recover from fraud
- Are tired of spam calls and want your data removed from people search sites
- Have kids and want parental controls, child SSN monitoring and gaming safety in one place
- Help an elderly parent manage scams and account alerts
Aura is probably not for you if you:
- Live outside the U.S., where the credit and SSN features do not apply
- Mainly want a VPN for streaming, torrenting or travel
- Need security apps on more than 10 devices on a single adult plan
- Are on a tight budget and only need basic breach alerts
Aura pros and cons
What I liked
- Three-bureau credit monitoring with very fast fraud alerts
- Up to $1 million in identity theft insurance per adult
- White-glove fraud resolution and 24/7 U.S.-based support
- Data broker removal across 425+ sites with clear progress tracking
- Payday loan, title, court record and SSN monitoring
- Excellent parental controls, child identity monitoring and Safe Gaming
- Antivirus, VPN, password manager, vault and email aliases included
- Trusted Family Access for helping loved ones
- 60-day money-back guarantee on annual plans
- Financially strong company with ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II commitments
What I didn’t like
- Credit and identity features are mostly limited to U.S. residents
- The VPN is basic compared with Surfshark or IPVanish
- Device limits are described inconsistently on the Family plan
- Credit lock covers Experian only
- Call Protection and email protection can be paid add-ons
- Refunds exclude monthly plans and renewals, and renewal prices can change
- Much more expensive than a VPN bundle if you only need device security
- Safe Gaming works on Windows PC only, and antivirus does not scan on iPhone
Final verdict: is Aura worth it in 2026?
Yes, for the right person. Aura is the most complete identity theft protection service I have reviewed. The combination of three-bureau credit monitoring, fast fraud alerts, data broker removal, $1 million in insurance per adult and real U.S.-based fraud specialists covers the things that cause the most damage when your identity gets stolen. Its family features are among the best in the industry, and the 2026 Qoria acquisition makes the company stronger, not weaker.
Its weak spot, from my point of view as a VPN reviewer, is the VPN. It is fine for public Wi-Fi, but it is not in the same league as a dedicated VPN. That is why my honest setup recommendation for most U.S. households is Aura for identity and financial protection, paired with Surfshark One for fast, private browsing on unlimited devices.
If you are a single adult, start with the Individual plan at $10 a month billed annually. It covers one adult and 10 devices with the full identity, credit and device protection, and the 60-day money-back guarantee lets you try it without risk. Before you sign up, check my Aura coupon page to make sure you get the lowest current price.
Aura review FAQ
Is Aura legit and safe to use?
Yes. Aura has been operating since 2017, reports more than 1.3 million customers protected, trades on the Australian Securities Exchange under AXQ and states that it holds ISO 27001 certification and has undergone SOC 2 Type II audits. Sensitive data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and Aura says it does not sell family data.
How much does Aura cost?
Through our offer, Aura Individual costs $10/mo billed annually ($120 per year) or $13/mo monthly. Couple costs $18/mo annually or $24/mo monthly, and Family costs $29/mo annually or $39/mo monthly. Aura’s standard prices are higher, at $12, $22 and $32 per month on annual billing. The Kids plan is listed at $10/mo billed annually. For the latest verified prices, see my Aura coupon page.
Is there an Aura coupon or promo code?
Yes. Our exclusive offer saves up to 63% on Aura, with the Individual plan from $10/mo billed annually, and no code is needed when you use our link. I track and verify the current discount on my Aura coupon page.
Does Aura have a free trial?
Yes. Aura advertises a 14-day free trial, which can only be used once. If you start with the trial and buy an annual plan, your 60-day money-back window begins on the day you signed up for the trial.
Does Aura offer a money-back guarantee?
Yes, a 60-day money-back guarantee on eligible first-time annual subscriptions bought directly from Aura’s website or support team. Monthly plans, third-party billing such as Amazon and renewals are excluded. To cancel and request a refund, call 1-833-552-2123.
Is Aura’s VPN good?
It is good enough for securing public Wi-Fi, with 100+ locations, a kill switch, split tunneling and phishing site blocking. It is not as fast or feature-rich as a dedicated VPN. For streaming, travel and maximum privacy, I recommend Surfshark One, which was the fastest VPN in my tests and supports unlimited devices.
Does Aura monitor all three credit bureaus?
Yes. Aura monitors Experian, Equifax and TransUnion, provides a monthly VantageScore and annual credit reports. The built-in credit lock only covers Experian, so you may want to freeze your credit at the other two bureaus directly.
How much identity theft insurance does Aura include?
Up to $1 million per adult: $1 million on Individual, $2 million on Couple and $5 million on Family. The policy is underwritten by American Bankers Insurance Company of Florida, an Assurant company, and is subject to terms, exclusions and availability in your state.
Can Aura remove my information from data broker sites?
Yes. Aura sends opt-out requests to more than 425 data broker and people search sites, tracks progress and resubmits requests if your data reappears. Removals can take up to 30 days per broker, and some need your authorization.
Does Aura work outside the United States?
Aura is designed for U.S. customers. Its terms also reference Canadian customers, but credit monitoring, SSN monitoring and insurance depend on U.S. eligibility. Users outside the U.S. should not expect the same benefits.
Is Aura good for parents?
Yes, it is one of the best family options I have seen. Parental controls on iOS and Android cover app and website blocking, time limits, schedules and SafeSearch. Aura Parents adds a Digital Wellbeing Score, AI app alerts and risk signals, and Safe Gaming monitors chat in 200+ PC games. The Family plan also monitors children’s SSNs and credit.
How many devices does Aura cover?
Individual covers 10 devices and Couple covers 20. The Family plan is described as unlimited on Aura’s pricing page, 50 devices on its identity protection page and our offer, and 10 devices per person for the VPN. Confirm the limit for your offer at checkout.
Who owns Aura?
Aura was founded by Hari Ravichandran, who remains CEO. After acquiring Qoria in July 2026, the combined company is publicly listed on the Australian Securities Exchange under the ticker AXQ.

The Review
Aura Review
I see Aura as a strong all-in-one option for identity theft protection, particularly for U.S. families. Its credit monitoring, fraud recovery support and family safety tools are the biggest draws. I also like the included privacy and security extras, although the basic VPN is less compelling than a dedicated service. Overall, I’d choose it for identity protection rather than VPN performance, while checking the plan limits and renewal terms carefully.
PROS
- Monitors credit across all three major U.S. credit bureaus.
- Includes up to $1 million in identity-theft insurance per adult, subject to policy terms.
- Offers 24/7 U.S.-based fraud recovery support.

- Provides useful parental controls and child identity monitoring.
CONS
- Core identity protection benefits focus on U.S. users.
- The VPN lacks the documented capabilities of dedicated alternatives.
- The included credit lock covers Experian only.
- Some scam-protection features cost extra.
- Family device limits vary across advertised offers.
- Refund eligibility and renewal terms need careful checking.
