Since Florida’s age verification law took effect on January 1, 2025, adult content in the state has been far more complicated. Pornhub, Redtube, YouPorn, Tube8 and dozens of other sites still block Florida IP addresses in October 2026, while sites like Chaturbate, xHamster and SpankBang demand ID before you see anything.
Florida has also turned up the pressure. In 2025, the Attorney General sued the companies behind XVideos and XNXX for skipping age checks, and the legal challenge to the law was dropped after the Supreme Court backed a similar Texas law.
I work full-time in cybersecurity and have published more than 600 VPN videos over 3+ years on my AllThingsVPN and VPNR channels. The fix is simple: connect to a VPN server in an unrestricted state, and the blocks and ID walls disappear.
Is porn banned in Florida?
No. Porn isn’t banned in Florida, and adults won’t face legal trouble for watching it. But since January 1, 2025, House Bill 3 (HB 3) requires adult websites to verify every visitor’s age before showing explicit content.
Sites have responded in very different ways:
- Blocked completely: Pornhub, Redtube, YouPorn, Tube8, RedGIFs and others block all Florida IP addresses.
- ID required: Chaturbate, xHamster, SpankBang, Stripchat and OnlyFans ask for ID, a face scan or a card.
- Under legal fire: XNXX and XVideos skipped age checks and were sued by the state in 2025.
Why a VPN solves the Florida porn block
A VPN replaces your Florida IP address with one from another location, such as New York. When a porn site checks your location, it sees a state without age verification and lets you in with no ID check.
A VPN also:
- Encrypts your traffic so your ISP can’t see what you watch
- Limits ISP throttling on video streaming
- Protects you on public Wi-Fi
- Keeps your browsing private from others on your network
How to unblock Pornhub in Florida (step by step)
Sign up for Surfshark One
Head to Surfshark’s website and choose the Surfshark One 2-year plan. It includes the VPN, antivirus and identity alerts, with a 30-day money-back guarantee.
Download and install the app
Get the app for Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, Fire TV or your browser, then log in.
Connect to a server in an unrestricted state
Choose New York, Chicago or Los Angeles. Skip Miami and Tampa, and avoid neighboring Georgia and Alabama plus Texas, which all have their own laws.
Open a private window and visit the site
A private window keeps old cookies from revealing your Florida location. Pornhub, Redtube and the rest should load normally.
Porn sites in Florida: what’s blocked and what requires ID
I checked the most popular adult platforms from a Florida IP. Here’s what I found.
| Site | Accessible in Florida? | Age verification required? |
|---|---|---|
| Pornhub | ❌ Blocked completely | N/A |
| Redtube | ❌ Blocked completely | N/A |
| YouPorn | ❌ Blocked completely | N/A |
| Tube8 | ❌ Blocked completely | N/A |
| RedGIFs | ❌ Blocked completely | N/A |
| RealityKings | ❌ Blocked completely | N/A |
| Mofos | ❌ Blocked completely | N/A |
| PornDoe | ❌ Blocked completely | N/A |
| PornTube | ❌ Blocked completely | N/A |
| Whynotbi | ❌ Blocked completely | N/A |
| Thumbzilla | ❌ Blocked completely | N/A |
| xHamster | ✅ Accessible | 🔒 Yes, ID and facial scan |
| Chaturbate | ✅ Accessible | 🔒 Yes, ID or Yoti age estimation |
| Stripchat | ✅ Accessible | 🔒 Yes, ID and selfie holding ID |
| SpankBang | ✅ Accessible | 🔒 Yes, AI age check or ID |
| OnlyFans | ✅ Accessible | 🔒 Yes, credit card or ID |
| XNXX | ⚠️ Varies | Sued by Florida in 2025 over missing checks |
| xVideos | ⚠️ Varies | Sued by Florida in 2025 over missing checks |
Based on my latest checks. Sites change their approach often, so treat this as a snapshot.
Most popular sites are either blocked or demand ID. A VPN handles both: blocked sites let you in, and age check pop-ups don’t trigger when your IP is outside Florida.

It unblocked Pornhub from Florida in my tests and kept about 92% of my base speed. The free plan includes some US servers but no state choice, so the paid plan at $2.99/mo on the 2-year plan with 70% off is the better route. Read my Proton VPN review.

Florida porn law explained
Florida’s HB 3, Online Protections for Minors, took effect on January 1, 2025. It requires any website with a substantial amount of adult content to verify that visitors are at least 18.
Sites must offer an anonymous verification option, where a third party checks your age and deletes your data afterward, alongside standard ID checks. Violations count as unfair trade practices, with civil penalties of up to $50,000 each.
Aylo, Pornhub’s parent company, says it isn’t willing to handle that data and blocked Florida instead. That’s why you see a block page, not an age prompt, when visiting Pornhub from Florida.
What’s changed since 2025
- June 2025: the Supreme Court upheld Texas’ near-identical law in Free Speech Coalition v. Paxton.
- July 2025: the Free Speech Coalition dropped its challenge to Florida’s age verification rules.
- August 2025: Attorney General James Uthmeier sued the companies behind XVideos, XNXX and other sites for failing to verify ages.
- October 2026: 27 states now have similar laws, and Utah and Indiana have started pressuring sites over VPN users.
Can I use a free VPN to watch porn in Florida?
Some free VPNs will get you past the Florida block, but I don’t recommend most of them:
- Privacy risk: many free VPNs log and sell your activity.
- Slow speeds: crowded servers mean constant buffering.
- Data caps: monthly limits vanish quickly with video.
- Malware risk: some free apps carry adware or worse.
A better approach is a premium VPN’s 30-day money-back guarantee, which lets you use it for a full month with a refund if you’re not happy. PrivadoVPN’s free plan is also a legitimate way to start.
Frequently asked questions
Is porn illegal in Florida?
No. Watching porn is legal in Florida for adults over 18. HB 3 requires websites to verify ages; it doesn’t ban adult content. Using a VPN is also legal.
Why is Pornhub blocked in Florida?
Aylo chose to block Florida rather than collect government IDs, citing user privacy. It’s still blocked in October 2026, and a VPN server in another state gets you around it.
Which VPN is best for watching porn in Florida?
Surfshark One. It was the fastest VPN in my tests at about 96% speed retention, covers unlimited devices and includes CleanWeb ad blocking, all for $2.79/mo on the 2-year plan.
Is it legal to use a VPN to watch porn in Florida?
Yes. VPNs are legal throughout the US, and adults over 18 can use one to browse privately. HB 3 targets websites, not viewers.
Does a VPN bypass age verification on sites like Chaturbate or xHamster?
Yes. Connect to a server in an unrestricted state first, and the site won’t detect you as a Florida user, so the age check doesn’t appear.
Are there any porn sites that still work in Florida without a VPN?
A few sites still skip checks, but the state sued XVideos and XNXX in 2025 for doing exactly that, so expect it to change. Pornhub and the other Aylo sites are fully blocked.
Is Redtube blocked in Florida?
Yes. Redtube is owned by Aylo and is fully blocked for Florida IP addresses. A VPN server outside Florida restores access.
Which server should I use from Florida?
New York, Chicago and Los Angeles are reliable choices. Avoid Georgia, Alabama, Texas and other states with their own age verification laws.
